Stand for Justice

We make
injustice visible.

Most people never see what is done to animals. We bring it into the middle of their city, and stay to talk about it.

A formation in the middle of the city.

The Stand for Justice is our street action. Activists in black suits and censor-bar sunglasses form a block in a busy public place. On their screens: common exploitative practices, what is done to animals every day on farms, in slaughterhouses and wherever else humans use them. Music draws people closer. Everyone who stops is invited to talk.

Everyone has a role.

  1. Three activists in black suits and censor-bar sunglasses stand back to back with screens in a shopping street.

    Formation

Activists stand together in the formation and hold the screens that show what is done to animals. They take turns, so the formation stays complete from the first minute to the last.

  2. An outreach activist talks with a passer-by next to the formation.

    Outreach

Outreach activists approach whoever stops to watch. They ask questions, hold people accountable for the injustice they do to other animals, and call them not only to respect animals but to defend them.

  3. An activist in the formation holds a screen, seen through the viewfinder of a camera.

    Camtivists

Camtivists film the conversations, so that they reach many more people online than pass by on the street.

    • Announce the Stand
    • Equipment
    • Briefing
    • Switching in and out

    Pack Leader

Pack leaders run the Stand. They hold the briefing, switch people in and out of the formation and are responsible for the equipment and for everything working.

An activist and a passer-by shake hands in front of an activist in the formation who holds a screen.

Will you commit to defend animals from now on? Handshake on that?

A conversation can end with a decision. Whoever decides to stop exploiting animals is invited to step into the formation right away.

We know which question comes next.

Open the first question to see its goal and what you can say to clarify it.

  1. Hello, how do you feel about humans exploiting other animals?
    Goal:

Make sure to determine if the person is reachable. If necessary, explain what exploitation means.

    Clarify:

Exploitation means using someone for your purposes. Animals are exploited for many purposes.
