They are someone.

Cows, pigs, chickens, fish, foxes and countless others: every animal humans exploit is an individual, with their own personality, their own relationships and their own will to live.

They are treated as property.

Almost everywhere in the world, the law treats animals as property. They can be bought, sold, used and killed for food, clothing, entertainment and experiments, as long as it serves a human purpose. Laws that regulate how animals are used leave the use itself unquestioned.

They Are Someone defends every nonhuman animal against human exploitation, whether they live on a farm, in a laboratory, in a circus or in the sea. Our goal is a world in which no one is used as a resource.
