We defend those who are treated as something.

They Are Someone is an abolitionist organisation of activists who defend nonhuman animals against human exploitation. We organise in local packs and bring our Stand for Justice to public places.

We work for the end of animal exploitation.

Humans exploit other animals for food, clothing, entertainment, experiments and many other purposes, because an ideology declares them property that exists for human purposes. We work to dismantle this ideology, until all humans live without exploiting other animals. We reach this goal person by person: we hold people accountable for their part in the injustice and call them to defend the victims themselves. Everyone who joins makes the movement stronger, and every new pack brings the Stand to another city.

Our values

What unites us, and why we stay independent of any political affiliation or religion: read our values.

These principles guide everything we do.

  1. Animals are someone. Every animal is an individual with their own experience, character and emotions.

  2. Exploitation is an injustice. Using someone for human purposes is wrong, whatever the purpose and however it is done.

  3. Accountability. Everyone who exploits animals is responsible for it, and everyone can decide to stop today.

  4. Action. Animals need people who defend them. Everyone who acknowledges the injustice is invited to join us.

  5. Bold and calm. We are direct and clear about the injustice, and we stay calm and respectful towards the people we talk to.
